WHAUP closes M&A deal on solar farm power plant this year

WHAUP is accelerating the M&A deal for at least one overseas solar farm project within this year. Production capacity of over 100 megawatts, ready to enter the electric vehicle charging station business to support WHA Group's integrated Green Logistics.

Mr. Somkiat Masonthasuwan, Chief Executive Officer of WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited or WHAUP, revealed that the company is currently in the process of negotiating a deal to acquire the business (M&A) project. Renewable energy in foreign countries, number 2-3Both solar energy and wind energy It is expected that the deal will be closed for at least one project within this year. Initially, it will be a solar power plant or solar farm project. The total production capacity is more than 100 megawatts. The total project value is approximately USD 200 million.


The company joins in investing with partners in investing in foreign projects. Initially, it is expected to hold shares in the proportion of 20-30%. The project is currently under construction. Makes it impossible to recognize income immediately



Whaup M&A deal in 2024


The company has also focused on expanding its clean energy business through developing innovations and new energy solutions, such as opening electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, in line with WHA Group's current investment plan in integrated Green Logistics. The company already has 2 transport customers.It is expected to launch in the 4th quarter of 2024, with a goal of expanding the service to 120 charging booths by 2024, with an investment of approximately 300 million baht.
